As of Friday night, May 23, one week exactly after moving into the RV, we finally left the greater Salt Lake area! We slept our first night in the Lehi High School parking lot, across from Brian and Olivia's. The next night we spent in Matt and Bergen's driveway in Provo. Then two nights in a parking lot in our old Provo neighborhood. Wednesday night we had our first Walmart parking lot experience at the Walmart on 114th South outside of SLC. Thursday was a last minute driveway stop at Matt and Bergen's again and then finally Friday night we left Provo after a dinner of salad and fried eggs in the Home Depot parking lot and headed south for a sound night's sleep at a truck stop in Beaver.
Huh? What?
So just in case you haven't heard, we moved out of our house in Salt Lake and are making an adventure for the foreseeable future by being vagabonds. We moved into a diesel c-class RV (that's the kind with the bed over the cab). It's got 3 beds and a bath and shower with a decent kitchenish area. It runs on a Mercedes Sprinter chassis so it's supposed to get great fuel economy but so far I'm not impressed. We got rid of half of our stuff, stored the rest in a storage container, and are left with five changes of clothing, toothbrushes, and a few handful of Legos. We are planning on wandering the country visiting friends, family, and national parks until we drive each other crazy (could be next week).
